Herndon's free outdoor family-oriented music series, Friday Night Live! starts its 2018 season Friday May 4th at 6pm at the Herndon Municipal Center and continues through August 24th. For more information on FNL! and a schedule of bands, click HERE.

The Herndon Optimist Club provides event staff to man the entrance gates, welcoming patrons to the event and checking for prohibited items. In return, the Herndon Chamber of Commerce donates a portion of the FNL! proceeds to fund our partners-in-education and law enforcement partnership programs. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and can choose which shift (6-8pm or 8-10pm) and which Friday nights to work. Even if you can only work 1-2 nights this season, every shift helps us raise funds for our civic programs! Please send an email to faubert@comcast.net if you have any questions or are able to volunteer.

Mr. Jared Green has very kindly offered to host a one day clinic for the children of Herndon, VA. Join one of the best Wide Receivers (WR) in the world as he teaches football fundamentals in a non-contact environment. This is going to be a lot of fun!

First Day of HOYF Practice: 

Who Participates: Players who have completed their Fall 2018 Season registration, including payment or submitting scholarship documentation. 

Location: Grass sports fields behind Herndon Middle School, 901 Locust Street, Herndon, VA

What to Wear/Bring: Wear cleats and clothes appropriate for the weather. Do NOT wear your helmet, shoulder pads, or padded pants the first day - your coach will tell you when to start wearing them to practice. Bring a large water bottle and any emergency medications (inhaler, epipen).

If your player does not get weighed, assigned to a team, and receive equipment before August 7th, they must go to the check-in table their first day of practice to get weighed and assigned to a team. Their coach will issue their equipment later in the week.

Practice Schedule: Mon-Fri 6-8pm until Labor Day; after Labor Day, team Head Coach will determine which three nights practice will be and whether it is at HMS or HHS.
